About Bishoftu
Bishoftu (also known as Debre Zeyit) is a resort town located about 50 kilometers southeast of Addis Ababa. It's famous for its stunning volcanic crater lakes, making it a perfect getaway for nature lovers and birdwatchers.
The town sits at an elevation of 1,920 meters and is surrounded by five crater lakes: Lake Bishoftu, Lake Hora, Lake Bishoftu Guda, Lake Chelekleka, and Lake Koriftu. Each lake has its own unique character and ecosystem.
